Poem: Elsewhere

Elsewhere

Pack your bags, we’re going!

We’re going to someplace new –

I want to find a big, white castle

Or an abandoned zoo.

I feel like we deserve an adventure

Plus, I’m bored of here…

I figure we could have some fun,

And soak somewhere in the sun…

Or maybe join a circus and become

An acrobat and learn to play the drums.

Or maybe we’ll hop on a bus

And ride it to the end!

We’ll go wherever it may take us

And stay the whole weekend!

You and me, together as one,

Like George and Lennie should be…

Like Bonnie and Clyde and Jekyll and Hyde –

And forever we shall be free.
